Due to this week's storms our office printers are thrown off. So this week’s bulletin is a simple article from our little rectory copier. *Although this bulletin is small it has an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. *
Next week I will be gathering with all the priests of the Toledo Diocese in Plymouth Michigan. While I’m gone and out of state during this week of meetings we will NOT have daily Masses Monday through Friday at either parish. Throughout this week the priests of the Diocese of Toledo will be meeting in prayer and reflection. One of the big topics during our retreat is the Diocesan Capital Campaign entitled the "Living Christ Campaign". This campaign is summarized on the back of the bulletin. As you could see if you flipped the sheet over ... I will be doing what most priests disdain but must be done in order keep the Diocese above water.... raise money. The "Living Christ" Campaign is designed to evoke a meaningful response from every Catholic house in the Diocese so as to strengthen the ministries in the Diocese of Toledo now and for generations to come. In summary this Campaign is to help all parishes in the Diocese now and for years to come have the ability to live out the gospel of Christ … thus the title “Living Christ.” As the priests of the Diocese meet this upcoming week we will be guided in leading this Campaign in our given parishes. One of my first goals is to select a leadership team of 8 people to help me accomplish our goal of $230,000. St. Joseph parish will receive back (35%) of these funds equaling ($80,500) to refurbish our north school’s restrooms and replacing our south school’s roof. If you would like to be on my “Living Christ” Diocesan Campaign team please let me know. I would be glad to have you! Pray for me as I pray for you next week while I’m away and learning to present a faithful “Living Christ" Campaign for my boss Bishop Thomas and my Ultimate BOSS and Lord Jesus Christ!!!
In Christ, Fr. Jeff Pastor and humble beggar
